I weep.I weep.
I could listen to strings and voices when my own voice rings inside my head late at night, when I cannot sleep. To take my mind from the sorrow I have carried within me all my life that comes out, when i cannot sleep. Sleep won't come to me, sleep won't come to me. And all the thoughts burst into my head and make me weep. Sunlit memory upon my fathers shoulder where I seemed safe Against dreamy games and prizes won with the guardian who kept me safe. I weep. I weep for the father I haven't known and the selfish girl who lives within me. I weep. I weep for the mistakes I weep.

Golden ButterThe butter dripped down your chin slowly and trailed its why down, rolling through like-peach fuzzed summers just like greasy, MSG Chinese food on ill Pepto-Bismol pink tablecloths in a quiet afternoon, four o'clock dinnertime.

DreamsIn the early morning when no one is awake I lie inside my head dreaming of days I haven't seen Like the scenes I don't mean and its like a rhyme this life day after day

As the changein april the spring approched us and we braced for it while I prepared myself for yet another change and the summer came, the sidewalks echoed water in the air like fire from a grill and
it got stuck in my throat; lodged inside like a rock in the stream I wish I was like I once knew in Colorado where the amount of trees equalled beauty but hid the dangerous antimatter that was disorder and chaos remembering, I know how it used to smell, that hidden ugly, like old milk. on love, in sadnessi Inside the river I opened my hands,
fingers, like eyelashes, fanning upward:
water fell into my finger-basket, filling;

lifting hands to my face,
I let a piece of the river wash me;

I broke more pieces over my body,
my smile a fish jumping moment to moment:

one moment enjoying the morning,
another mourning,
fins hiding in straight-lip silence . . .

I am still here

I hold onto this piece of me, never willing to let go because there is no other place I can express myself so deeply if I ever need to.
I haven't been writing poetry for a long while now, really since my grandmother died. I still await the day that inspiration strikes.
But living in the desert provides a desolate existance whereas I draw a lot of inspiration from nature. But alas, it is too hot to go outside and being in the city the nature here is bear as it is.
I am only thankful that I do not have to rely on my poetry to make my way in this world and so thats why I can keep making excuses
